ELITE STREET | By Bob Goldsborough | Julian C. Mack, who until recently oversaw global consulting giant McKinsey & Co.’s five Midwest offices including Chicago, has listed his 15-room, 5,602-square-foot contemporary-style mansion on Lake Michigan in Winnetka for $6.4 million.

Reached at his home, Mack, 49, said he is joining Bridgewater Associates, the large institutional asset manager and hedge fund in Westport, Ct., and that he will commute to Westport for the next few months. Mack said he ceased running McKinsey’s Midwest offices about three months ago and that he left McKinsey about two weeks ago.

Built in 1973, the recently renovated, five-bedroom house has soaring
ceilings, an open floor plan, six baths, four fireplaces and views of
the lake from every room. The gated, 1.02-acre property, which sits on
the edge of a bluff, has about 230 feet of lake frontage and a deep
sandy beach.

Mack paid $2.975 million for the house in 2000. It came on the market
on June 4.

Mack’s wife, Hudson Company’s Amy Mack, is the listing agent.
