Boeing Co. said Thursday it took 58 new orders for commercial planes in the week that ended March 9, but reduced the number of 787 orders by eight.

Russia’s Aeroflot to buy 8 Boeing airliners
Russian flagship airline Aeroflot said on Wednesday it had signed a firm order to buy eight Boeing 777s, in line with earlier plans, partly to boost its fleet ahead of the Winter Olympics in 2014.
The eight planes — six Boeing 777-300s and two Boeing 777-200s — have a ticket value of $2.17 billion according to Reuters data, although an industry source told Reuters the carrier had received a discount and would pay around $1.6 billion. Get the full story »

Boeing Co. said on Thursday it took seven new orders for commercial planes in the week ended Feb. 15 — three 767 jets and four 777s.

Boeing Co. for the second time this year said it will increase its 777 aircraft production rate based on strong global demand.

Boeing Co. said on Thursday it took a new order for eight 777s, potentially worth $2.7 billion, from BOC Aviation in the week ended Nov. 2.

Boeing Co. says it booked orders for 20 new aircraft in the last week, although it lost a few, too. The new orders include 15 new 737s. That jet is a workhorse and it dominates Boeing’s order book. Customers also ordered five new 777s, a larger plane often used on longer flights. None of the customers were identified.

Turbulence injures 25 on United Airlines flight
Severe turbulence on a United Airlines flight from Washington to Los Angeles led to a number of injuries and forced an emergency landing, officials said Wednesday. Boeing to speed up production of 777s, 747s
Associated Press | Boeing will speed up production plans for its
777 and 747 models in anticipation of greater demand from commercial
airlines in a couple of years.
The aircraft maker, based in Chicago, said Friday it will increase
production of its fuel-efficient 777 wide-body in mid-2011 to seven
airplanes per month from five. The ramp-up was originally planned early
2012.
