Boeing takes 58 commercial orders, loses 8
Boeing Co. said Thursday it took 58 new orders for commercial planes in the week that ended March 9, but reduced the number of 787 orders by eight.
The company on its website said it took orders for four 767s from the U.S. Air Force. Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd ordered 10 777s. American International Group’s International Lease Finance Corp ordered 33 737s. Get the full story »
Boeing gets orders for 767 and 777 planes
Boeing Co. said on Thursday it took seven new orders for commercial planes in the week ended Feb. 15 — three 767 jets and four 777s.
The 767 orders were from Chile’s LAN Airlines, which announced earlier this week that it was buying the three planes for $510 million as part of its long-term fleet strategy. Get the full story »
767 latest Qantas jet to turn back in flight
A Qantas Boeing 767 has turned back on a domestic flight in Australia after pilots detected abnormal vibrations in one of the plane’s engines.

FAA tells airlines to inspect Boeing cockpit windows
From Bloomberg | The Federal Aviation Administration said today that U.S. airlines flying Boeing Co. 757, 767 and 777 aircraft must inspect or replace the cockpit windows after 11 reports of fires tied to electrical wiring in the past two decades.
Boeing may recommend more 767 inspections
Boeing says airlines that fly its 767 are likely to be asked to increase inspections for cracks where the engine attaches to the wing.
The move comes after the problem was found on at least two American Airlines jets.

FAA finds cracks on at least 2 AMR 767s
The U.S. Federal Aviation Authority Tuesday said it found structural cracks on at least two of AMR Corp’s American Airlines’ fleet of Boeing 767 wide-body planes during recent safety checks.
The FAA said cracks could have caused engines to fall from aircraft.
The cracks were discovered on engine pylons on three of American’s 73 767s. An AMR spokesman, however, said the cracks appeared on only two planes.
