While Indiana is gunning for Illinois businesses, the Chicago Convention & Tourism Bureau poached a second key convention and tourism official from Indianapolis.

Warren Wilkinson, 51,  has been named senior vice president, marketing and communications, at the bureau, which is restructuring its management staff.

He and the Chicago bureau’s new CEO, Don Welsh, hail  from the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association, where Welsh had been chief executive and Wilkinson was senior vice president of marketing and communications.

Two other Chicago bureau executives have been promoted to senior vice president positions: Jack Johnson, for government relations and partnerships, and Mark Tunney, for sales and services.

Two executives have left after their positions were eliminated: Donna Shaw, who had been vice president, marketing and communications; and Mark Theis, who had been executive vice president, sales.
