The United States will hold technical talks with the United Arab Emirates and other countries on the pending ban on the BlackBerry Messenger, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Thursday.
“We are taking time to consult and analyze the full array of interests and issues at stake because we know that there is a legitimate security concern, but there is also a legitimate right of free use and access,” she told reporters in Washington.
Why are we involved in this? Why does the US have to talk with another countries issue with Blackberry? Geeze…
@Paul … because US citizens and others go to UAE,Saudi Arabia,India and use their Blackberry’s there.
@Ron…this not our problem. The US needs to focus on real issues in that part of the world…whether or not a US citizen can or cannot use their Blackberry really doesn’t measure up to being a real issue. If US citizens want use their Blackberry devices when in a different country..then don’t go to the UAE. It is that simple.
Banning communications is really about controlling people. And why did Chicago sell the parking meters to a comapany that is 25% owned by these nutjobs?
Is the UAE more security-conscious than the US and other technologically advanced countries? Can’t u do with yahoo messenger, wot u ca
n wit blackberry messenger so wots d sense in banning the bb service
