Sun Capital buys Pace American

Sun Capital Partners Inc., a Boca Raton-based private equity firm that earlier this month acquired the Bar Louie chain, now has bought Chicago-based Pace American, which makes enclosed cargo and utility trailers for the U.S. and Canadian markets. Terms weren’t disclosed.

Founded in 1986, Pace has five plants, in Georgia, Utah, Texas, Indiana and Oregon.

Sun is a private investment firm focused on leveraged buyouts, equity, debt and other investments. It has invested in more than 225 companies worldwide with combined sales in excess of $40 billion since its 1995 inception in 1995.

It has offices in Boca Raton, Los Angeles, and New York, as well as affiliates with offices in London, Paris, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
