Associated Press | General Motors is celebrating the 75th
anniversary of the Chevrolet Suburban, the longest continuously
produced vehicle in the U.S.

The GM plant in Arlington, Texas, where the vehicles are made,
showcased on Monday one of the first Suburbans — a yellow vehicle from
1936 — and the new 75th anniversary Diamond Edition. Only 2,750 of
those will be made.

Plant manager Paul Graham says that orders have been skyrocketing at the Texas plant, which has 2,400 employees.

General Motors Co. is among several U.S. automakers that saw sales increases from a year ago. GM also paid off its $6.7 billion government loan from an escrow fund created by the government as part of the company’s bankruptcy last year.

The real question is if gas prices keep going up, Government Motors will see the 77th anniversary of this gas hog.

I definitely like the original style back from the 40’s. The rounded fenders just does something for style!

Newsworthy from the automotive sector would be a breakthrough in fast charging systems for electric vehicles.
A lighter weight composite that has the strength of steel.
The 75th Anniversary of an Anachronism ….simply not news.
