By Ameet Sachdev | Walgreens will expand in Memphis, Tenn., by buying prescription files and other assets from 17 Ike’s and Super-D drugstores, the Deerfield-based drugstore chain said.

Walgreens will transfer the patient files to its own pharmacies in
Memphis, where it has operated since 1927. Walgreens said it is also
negotiating to acquire and continue to operate the two remaining Ike’s
stores.

Ike’s and Super-D are both owned by USA Drug. Financial terms of the
transaction were not released. The deal is expected to completed later
this month.
