No interruption to jobless benefits in Illinois

Associated Press | There will be no interruption in unemployment
insurance benefit payments in Illinois because Congress passed a
one-month extension of existing programs this week.

As many as 15,000 Illinois workers each week would have exhausted their
unemployment benefits without congressional action. The extension runs
through April 5.

The Illinois Department of Employment Security says there’s no need for workers to contact the employment office.

Contributions by Illinois businesses are set by state law and fund the first 26 weeks of unemployment insurance. Nearly $3 billion in federal funds have been used to pay benefits beyond the initial 26 weeks.

The average weekly Illinois benefit payment is about $315. The maximum weekly amount is $534.

Been out of full time employment for two months with no job in sight after putting out my very rich resume over the world wide web.
Have 4 months more of Treasury Unemployment checks so will have warm weather to eek out some kind of position.
Was driving 200 miles rt on old job…locally I might find a $10 an hour job.
Insurance companies are screaming for agents, after you come up with $500 for preparation and licensing.
I have a B.A. so I know I can write. Perhaps when my angst level rises sufficiently I will publish my poetry.
Funny though,I survived the meltdown in “99″, but see a much grimmer landscape this time around.
