Associated Press | Honda is enticing customers with some of its
most aggressive leases ever after rival Toyota launched its own big
leasing program. Honda spokesman Chris Naughton says the automaker is offering leases
with no down payment, no payments for the first month and no security
deposit for almost its entire lineup through May 3.

Rival Toyota, seeking to lure customers spooked by a massive recall linked to sudden acceleration problems, announced new incentives to win back some of that business.

Heavy incentive spending is not unusual among the Detroit Three, but Japanese automakers have traditionally shied away from deep discounts out of fear that it tarnishes brand value.

At least Honda doesn’t have the massive levels of recalls. However, since I bought one based on Car & Driver’s recommendation, I don’t think I’ll be in the market for a while.
