By Michael Oneal | Groupon, the Chicago-based coupon Web site, launched a new iPhone application Thursday.
The app will allow Groupon users to tap the site’s daily offerings of
deals on local goods, services and cultural events from their iPhone or
iPod touch, the company said in a release.
The app is currently available as a free download in the Apple App Store. It lets users browse daily deals, access their account, map Groupons, and redeem Groupons by showing merchants the Groupon on their iPhone screen.
“The Groupon app makes it easier for customers to get their daily Groupon fix,” said founder Andrew Mason in a press release. “Users can buy, redeem and organize their purchases, effectively making the iPhone a Groupon wallet.”
GROUPON not Goupon in the title
Get a copyeditor or something, especially for your headlines. Geez.
This is NOT a news story. In fact, they are way behind the times with this. Why is the Suntimes so in love with a company that loses money and has yet to turn a profit versus the massive amounts of debt on their balance sheet from their cap raise?
Love my Groupon!!! Downloading the app now!!!
@Jennifer Donohue : What do you know about the balance sheets of this company… I sometimes pity peopl elike you who don’t know a thing and still like to get mocked… Just FYI…. I work in this company and its doing absolutly great… You have no idea how many deals we make in a day… Get a life…
Have fun having the retailer accept a “virtual” version of a coupon.
