Two Discovery Kids lamps recalled

Discovery Kids lamps that may have a defective printed circuit board,
potentially leading to an electrical short and fire and burn hazard.


The commission, in cooperation with Innovage LLC of Foothill Ranch, Calif., is recalling about 360,000 Discovery Kids Animated Marine Lamps with the model number 1627121 or 1628626 and Animated Safari Lamps with the model number 1627124 or 1628626. All of the models involved in the recall begin with the batch number “2.” Nine incident reports have been filed with the commission about the lamp, including seven reports of the lamps catching fire.

Affected consumers are to stop using the lamps immediately and for a full refund, contact Innovage at (888) 232-1535 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pacific time Monday through Friday, visit the firm’s Web site at www.lamprecall.org or email info@lamprecall.org.
