Boeing to lay off 1,000 workers

Associated Press | Boeing Co. says it is sending out layoff
notices to more than 1,000 people, most of them technology workers in
Washington state and California.

The notices that went out on Friday mean the workers are at risk for
being laid off April 23. The number of workers to be laid off could
shrink.

Boeing spokesman Tim Healy says 500 of the workers are in the Puget Sound area in Washington, where Boeing’s commercial airplanes division is based. Roughly 300 are in California, with the rest of the affected workers scattered in other states.

This is bad news for Washington State. Worse for the thousand who will be joining us in the unemployment line!

Thanks for publishing about this. There’s a bunch of solid tech info on the internet. You’ve got a lot of that info here on your web site. I’m impressed – I try to keep a couple blogs pretty current, but it’s a struggle sometimes. You’ve done a great job with this one. How do you do it?
